What is the idea behind the 518 Mafia?
Simply put, it is the begining of a new kind of brotherhood, a family of local paintballers based on the sport, not which field or organization they belong to.
518 Mafia players are made up of paintballers from APE, First Prize, HornetsNest, High Energy & Rt 4 Paintball. We welcome anyone who puts on a mask, grabs a marker and plays the game. We are made up of woodzballers & tournament players alike.
In the ABXL tournament series we probably have more players on different teams then any other area. 518 players are on PowerSurge, Assasins, Rockland, Lake Placid, & North Syracuse Shooters, those players that I know of. Plus 30 players competing in the MXL series also. At these events you should see the level of brotherhood I now see, where in the past there was a divide based on organization each player represented.
Woodzball paintball players now experiance bigger and better scenarios, field owners are now communicating and supporting each others events.
How do you support and become involved in this?
Right now this is all the brain child of Jesse from First Prize. Jesse has made up decals with the 518 Mafia, pick some up. Soon they are going to be available at all the other fields that we can get involved. Put them on your guns, hoppers, goggles, where ever you think to display them. Currently there is a logo that is being made that will be available in tee-shirts and other ways as we come up with them.
The idea is going to give us, the local 518 players exposer in the sport that will demand regonition in the paintball industry. 518 ballers and field owners can only benefit from this type of growth....
